Travel Tips

Weather: The average temperature in Roatan is 80 deg. F., with only a few days of rain and high winds in late fall and early winter. The trade winds provide natural air-conditioning, and humidity averages 25%. Insect repellent is sold at the resort, but guests who are sensitive to insect bites may want to bring their preferred kind.
Attire: Dress is casual as the island is very informal, and a relaxed atmosphere prevails. Note: Beachtowels are not provided so be sure to bring your own.
Currency: Most guests choose to bill additional expenses to their room during their stay, paying at checkout. Otherwise, US dollars are accepted throughout the island. Local currency is the Lempira, which currently is at about Lps. 20.00 for $1.00 US. However, the exchange rate fluctuates daily.
Time Zone: Honduras is on Central Time.
