And the dolphins came,
    the mothers and their babies,
    and the males swimming in pairs,
Beautifully synchronized,
Perfectly orchestrated and unrehearsed,
    making a ring around the humans,
And they began to jump
    straight and high
    and into the sun,
As they've leapt for eons
    even before humankind arrived on the planet,

And Before and Now and When
     explode into One time and One place,
And the girl sitting on the beach
     knows and rejoices —
     life's celebration,
    
Explosions of light —
     dance of the heart,
the waves and the wind and the dolphins.
